The Day the LAB Became Official

SkateLAB Is Founded & Presented

Founders Terry Albright Jr., Ezra Deason, Jamiel Bowers, and Terry Strong Jr. found SkateLAB and present the idea: build a real community through roller skating.

April 8, 2025

Officially Established at VSU

SkateLAB becomes an official organization at Virginia State University — the day the LAB became official.

Year One

First YardFest Performance

SkateLAB takes the stage at YardFest, introducing the campus to skate performance culture.

September 3, 2025

SkateLAB Becomes an LLC

SkateLAB registers as an LLC, formalizing its future as a lasting community and lifestyle brand.

SkateLAB LLC ("SkateLAB," "we," "us") operates this website. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. We aim to keep this simple and honest.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us through our forms — for example, when you join, RSVP to an event, request our partnership deck, or send a collaboration, sponsorship, or booking request. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, university or organization, and any details you type into a message field.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

How we use it

We use your information only to respond to you, coordinate events and memberships, and follow up on requests you send us. We may keep submissions so our team can review and act on them.

How it's stored and who sees it

Form submissions are stored securely in our database provider and are visible only to authorized SkateLAB board members. Submissions may also trigger a notification email to our team. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't share it except as needed to run SkateLAB or as required by law.

Payments

Dues, donations, and merchandise purchases are handled by Square on Square-hosted pages. We never see or store your full payment card details — Square processes those directly under its own privacy and security terms.

Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious website analytics to understand general, aggregated usage (such as which pages are visited) so we can improve the site. This does not identify you personally.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you've submitted at any time by emailing vsuskatelab@gmail.com. You can also decline to fill out any form — the rest of the site works without it.

Using the site

You agree to use the SkateLAB website for lawful purposes and to provide accurate information when you fill out our forms. Please don't attempt to disrupt, misuse, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its admin area.

Events and RSVPs

RSVPs help us plan, but submitting one doesn't guarantee entry, capacity, or that an event will occur as scheduled. Event details may change; we'll do our best to keep the site current.

Payments, dues, and merchandise

Dues, donations, and merch are processed by Square. Purchases and refunds are subject to Square's terms and to any store policies we publish. Membership dues are generally non-refundable unless stated otherwise. If you have a billing question, contact us and we'll help sort it out.

Shipping & returns (merch)

If and when we sell physical merchandise, shipping times, costs, and return eligibility will be described at checkout or in a dedicated store policy. Until then, merch terms are handled case by case — reach out with any questions.

Content

The SkateLAB name, logo, photos, and content on this site belong to SkateLAB LLC and may not be copied or reused without permission. Links to third-party sites (like Square or our social media) are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for their content.
